Who this is for

Built for people who just want their office to follow them

If any of these sound like you, remote access on wg0 is a five-minute job.

🏠

Home office workers

Print to the office printer at home from your kitchen table. Grab files off the shared drive without sending yourself emails. Your home laptop acts like it's plugged into the office network.

🏪

Small business owners

Check in on the shop cameras, pull a quote off the file server, or reprint an invoice from a customer site. One evening of setup, then it just works forever.

🔧

Trade shops and field teams

Give your installers on the road direct access to the office NAS, the quoting system, and the label printer — without handing out passwords to a dozen different services.

🧪

Home-lab enthusiasts

Jellyfin, Home Assistant, Proxmox, the old NAS in the basement — everything on your home LAN, available from your phone or travel laptop without exposing ports to the internet.

What you get

Everything the fancy enterprise VPNs promise — without the IT team

Most mesh VPN products want you to install an agent on every device. That doesn't work for printers, cameras, or that old NAS in the corner. wg0's native-LAN mode fixes it by having one managed host join the network on behalf of the whole office.

🏷️

Real LAN access

Remote devices get actual 192.168.x addresses on your existing subnet. Your printer, NAS and cameras don't need to know anything changed — they just answer when a remote laptop rings their doorbell.

⏱️

Five-minute setup

The dashboard walks you through it. Pick a subnet, run one install command on an always-on machine at the office, then add each laptop. No router config, no firewall voodoo.

🖨️

Printers, cameras, NAS

No agent needed on your office gadgets. If a device speaks TCP/IP, it's reachable. That includes picky printers, point-of-sale terminals, and legacy hardware you'd never dream of installing software on.

📱

Your phone is covered

Use the managed wg0 Android app for live control-plane features, or scan a QR code with the standard WireGuard app on iPhone and other manual peers. Bring up the office camera feed from a jobsite the same way you'd check your email.

📶

Works behind any router

NAT traversal is handled automatically, including tricky residential routers and cellular carriers. You don't need a static IP, a port forward, or a call with your ISP.

🟢

Honest presence

Four states — online, idle, silent, offline — so the dashboard tells you exactly who's actually reachable right now and how we know. No mystery green dots.

How it works

From zero to "I can print from the boat" in about five minutes

No prior networking knowledge required. If you can follow a recipe, you can do this.

  1. Pick an always-on machine at the office

A Mac mini, a Raspberry Pi, a cheap mini PC, an old laptop left plugged in — anything that stays powered on and sits on the same network as your printer and file server. This becomes your "host."

  2. Sign up at login.wg0.io

Free tier, no credit card. You'll land in the dashboard with a fresh account and an empty network list.

  3. Create a "Native LAN" network

Click New network, pick Native LAN mode, and type in the subnet your office already uses — usually something like 192.168.1.0/24. The dashboard handles the rest.

  4. Add the office machine as the host

The dashboard hands you a one-line install command. Paste it into a terminal on the office machine. Ninety seconds later, the host shows up green in your dashboard.

  5. Add each remote laptop the same way

Repeat the one-line install on your home laptop, your travel laptop, and the field tablets. For phones, use the managed Android app or scan the QR code into the WireGuard app for manual peers. Each gets a real 192.168.1.x address.

  6. Open the printer's web UI from anywhere

From your remote laptop, type the printer's LAN address — like http://192.168.1.22 — into your browser. It just works. Same for the NAS, the cameras, and that one ancient label printer nobody wants to replace.

Questions we hear

The stuff people ask before signing up

Does my printer need any special setup?

No. That's the whole point of native-LAN mode. Your printer, your NAS, your cameras — they keep doing exactly what they've always done. The wg0 host takes care of making them reachable to remote devices. You never log in to the printer to install anything.

What if I already use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

Keep using them. wg0 operates at the network level, not the app level — it doesn't replace your email, calendar or file sync. It just makes the rest of your office network (the things those cloud services don't cover) reachable from anywhere. The two sit happily alongside each other.

My router isn't fancy — will this actually work?

Yes. wg0 includes a lightweight "discover" helper that handles NAT traversal automatically, including most residential routers and cellular carriers. You don't need a static IP, you don't need to open ports, and you don't need to call your ISP. If your host can reach the internet, it can join the network.

Is my data private?

Every connection is end-to-end encrypted with WireGuard, the same protocol trusted by kernel developers, security researchers and most of the big-name VPN providers. Your traffic goes straight from your remote laptop to your office host — wg0 doesn't terminate or inspect it. Networks are isolated per account, so nothing about your setup is visible to anyone else.

What happens if my office machine goes down?

Remote devices briefly lose their path into the LAN, but the dashboard flags it clearly so you know exactly what happened and where. Everything still running at the office keeps working normally — the host is only in the picture for the remote-access path. Power-cycle the host, or swap to a spare, and you're back.

Start with one office, one laptop, five minutes

The free tier is enough to connect a home office and a laptop — enough to prove it works before you roll it out to the whole team. No credit card, no sales call required.
