Use case · Shared access

Invite someone into one network
without giving them your whole account

Share your home lab, media server, office LAN, or one client site with someone else by email. They get their own wg0 login, enroll their own connector, and only see their own device and peering path in a dedicated Shared Networks section.

Why it matters

Share one thing, not everything

Invite a family member into your home network, a contractor into one office LAN, or a vendor into one test environment without making them an admin or member of your full account.

The invitee gets their own space

If they do not already have a wg0 account, wg0 creates a free account for them on acceptance. They land in My Access → Shared Networks, not in your account dashboard.

Connector-first onboarding

Shared access is designed around the same managed connector flow as the rest of wg0. The invitee installs a connector, sees their peering status, and stays inside a supportable path.

What the owner controls

Invite by email

Send a single-network invite from the Network page and revoke it before or after acceptance.

Instant stop

Revoking shared access deactivates the invitee's active nodes on that network so their access stops immediately.

Native LAN stays deliberate

Phase 1 supports normal shared network membership. A future routed-only native mode is planned so you can let someone reach the LAN through a host without placing them directly on that LAN.

Good fits

Home media & family access

Let someone reach Plex, Jellyfin, NAS, cameras, or printers on your home network without sharing your admin dashboard.

Contractor or vendor access

Give a short, precise network invite to the one site they need instead of turning them into a full account user.

Temporary troubleshooting

Have someone join one network, bring up their connector, and watch the host/relay peering from a contained shared-access view.
